10 Top Tips For Building A List
Building a list is the best way to make a profit from your new website, you need to start getting subscribers and building that list if you want a long term business.
Common sense tells me if someone is prepared to give you their email address, providing it was a good product or service that you gave them, then chances are they will listen to you again.
I have put together some top tips for you for list building
1. Plan a strategy
Ask yourself why are you building a list?
What market or niche are you trying to target?
Where are your customers likely to be looking for your type of service?
2.Source Traffic For Your Site
Where from and how are you going to get traffic to your website/blog or subscription form?
will you use PPC, Paid Ad’s maybe even a traffic exchange.
3. Freebies are Great
Free ebooks and courses are brilliant to attract new subscribers, many people are keen to stretch their knowledge and more people than ever before are reading e-books.
4. You Need An Autoresponder
You need a good autoresponder and there are so many to choose from.
The paid options include Getresponse, Aweber and Mail Chimp although Mail Chimp does offer a free for ever service.
5. Test & Refine
Testing, testing, testing, decide and define what works best for you to build that list, anything that comes up short drop like a hot rock.
Track your stats and use the analytics that you get from your autoresponder and Google to look at what is getting the most traffic and from where
6. Video’s, Podcasts, Powerpoint presentations
Utilise other media to grow your list, video’s podcast, infographics these can all play a huge role in driving visitors to your list
7. Don’t Forget Smartphones
Make sure your site is mobile friendly, I read somewhere recently that in certain countries 60%of search traffic is coming from people with smartphones, so if your site is not mobile friendly, you are potentially missing out on some serious traffic
8. Constant Contact
Once you have some subscribers on your mailing list make sure that you are mailing as often as you can. Some gurus send me an email everyday, some twice a week, decide what your comfortable with and stick with it.
9. Grab Your Visitors Attention
Pop up’s are still a powerful way to get your potential prospects attention, if you can insert them in your post or on your site then it normally makes a difference.
10. Do it, don’t procrastinate, just get on with it.
